Kaido

That worked. Perhaps a little too well.

At 62 cm and around 36 kg, Kaido is an imposing male whose appearance can certainly make an impression. His character, however, tells a rather different story. Behind that impressive exterior is essentially a giant Scooby-Doo.

With people, Kaido is incredibly friendly, playful and almost ridiculously cute. At the same time, he is sensitive and still uncertain in some situations. His size does not automatically make him confident – and that is exactly why we want to give him the time he needs to mature.

He is generally polite with other dogs as well. He gives them space, tries to avoid conflict and accepts corrections. Because of his size and strength, direct interaction can still become quite physical, and other dogs do occasionally need to set boundaries with him.

To us, Kaido is a true gentle giant: physically impressive, soft in character and socially considerate.

From a breeding perspective, he brings many of the qualities we were looking for: size, substance, a powerful type and very good health results. Whether and how we eventually use him will not be decided on those qualities alone.

Kaido is still young. His further physical and mental development matters more to us than making an early breeding plan.
